Driving Change, One PSA at a Time

Electric vehicles are the future of clean transportation—but for many people, they still feel out of reach. That’s why the North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center (NCCETC) partnered with Amazing Studios to launch a statewide electric vehicle PSA campaign that would raise awareness and make EVs feel more accessible.

As a leader in energy education and clean transportation, NCCETC wanted a series of short, broadcast-ready messages that could meet people where they are. The goal? Encourage viewers and listeners to imagine how an EV might fit into their lives.

The Creative Approach

Together, we developed a bilingual electric vehicle PSA campaign—tailored for both TV and radio audiences. Each spot was produced in English and Spanish, and crafted for lasting impact.

We kept things simple and relatable. Each video features approachable on-screen talent, familiar neighborhoods, and real-life charging stations across North Carolina. Instead of overwhelming viewers with data, the PSAs focused on how EVs can seamlessly support everyday routines.

In addition, we recorded regionally appropriate voiceovers and included a soft call to action: visit LearnAboutEVs.org to explore more. No pressure—just curiosity.

Bringing the Campaign to Life

The final deliverables included:

  • Six 30-Second PSAs: English and Spanish versions for both TV and radio, with attribution to NCCETC and the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters.
  • Authentic Filming Locations: Real-world driveways, roads, and charging stations in Wake Forest and Morrisville added familiarity and trust.
  • Bilingual Voiceover Talent: With natural delivery and warm, conversational tones to connect with diverse audiences.
  • Accessibility Features: Captioned video files and flexible formats ensured inclusive access across all channels.

As a result, the campaign meets statewide distribution goals—broadcast, online, and live events—while offering the flexibility to repurpose content long-term.

The Results

The electric vehicle PSA campaign helps shift the conversation from “maybe someday” to “maybe now.”

For example, rather than selling specific models or brands, the campaign invites people to consider the benefits of cleaner transportation. This makes the PSAs timeless and adaptable.
