Project Details and Goals
Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (TPA) wanted to build on a previous campaign with a warm, nostalgic tone. They hoped to honor their long history while showing all they offer today.
With roots dating back to the 1960s, Tampa International Airport remains committed to customer-first service. It’s the same spirit that once made air travel feel fresh and exciting.
To match this legacy with modern-day momentum, TPA needed a suite of deliverables. Our goal was to equip them with everything required for a 3-year digital ad buy.
In addition to showcasing their story, TPA wanted to celebrate a major milestone. For two years in a row, they were ranked #1 in Customer Satisfaction. To highlight this, we created a second version of each video—one featuring their JD Power awards and one without. This gave their team flexibility in choosing which to use.
Creative Concepting & Execution
To open the full-length cut, we leaned into nostalgia. We used vintage aviation footage and audio, beginning with a black-and-white scene that fades into color.
At first, it appears to be a couple from the 1960s. But as color fills the screen, it’s revealed they’re enjoying a modern flight. This subtle reveal connects past and present.
Next, the couple turns to look out the window. As they do, the window opens. The camera zooms in, and the screen fades to white—transitioning to modern airport footage and stylized graphics.
To make this seamless transition possible, we created the airplane window with CGI. This gave us full control of the angle, lighting, and framing. As a result, we could perfectly match the couple’s movements with the window scene.
Final Delivery & Results
The final delivery included multiple ad-length cuts with and without awards. This gave TPA everything they needed to kick off their three-year digital campaign.
The campaign invites more people to fly through TPA—promising great service and a touch of vintage charm.
