The Town of Hillsborough responded to their anticipated weather FAQ’s by working with us to create an animated version of their town complete with local landmarks to keep residents informed of winter weather procedures.

The town of Hillsborough, North Carolina takes pride in their small town charm. Through every season, the community enjoys the town’s history and heritage, but with their rapid growth has come questions and confusion on some of the town’s roles and responsibilities.One pain poin in particular, in winter, the town is flooded with calls and online inquiries from concerned residents about how the town operates during winter weather events. The Town wanted to communicate the answers to the ‘frequently asked questions’ they receive during winter storm warnings or events.

Taking the opportunity to create something memorable, they decided to take a creative approach to their typical governmental PSA. With a large percentage of their citizens interacting with the town through social media or other online platforms, Hillsborough choose animation as the best way to inform their audience. We created a visually beautiful and appealing animation taking inspiration from the town’s beloved landmarks depicting Hillsborough’s iconic and important places around town in as an ideal winter wonderland. Channeling the small town charm and warm memories of snowy days at home, citizens could recognize their hometown and the humorous characters gave life to the town’s personality. As a result of the video’s release, the municipality informed us that publishing this video significantly reduced the amount of calls the town offices received regarding winter weather concerns.

“When our organization was faced with adjusting from our annual in person fundraising luncheon to a virtual event, we had little experience with hiring a company to produce this level of work. The turning point that inspired us to have faith in Amazing Studios was viewing examples of their other work, their clear connection with our mission, their supreme willingness to flex and bend based on multiple people starring in the video, multiple scripts to craft, multiple filming locations and lots of cooks in the SAFEchild kitchen. I also had faith they would help us utilize a longer shelf life and therefore return on our investment by separating out pieces of the video in a way that they live impactfully on our website and we use all the time when hosting smaller virtual events or training. I used both of our featured story pieces recently - one when I live streaming to an audience and the other for a community stakeholders convening. That’s two intentional uses in just one week - 6 months after our initial virtual event. We also had the ability to share the video in its entirety to those who could not attend the scheduled first viewing for the virtual luncheon. Your responsiveness was always rapid and on point. We likely wore you out, but you never let that on. You outwardly displayed that we were a top priority and quite frankly that’s what our community’s children deserve.”
