UNC REX Cancer Center

UNC REX Healthcare
In collaboration with marketing agency Avenir Bold, we created this 15-second broadcast spot for the brand new UNC REX Cancer Center which helps bring its patients closer to the meaningful moments in their lives with care tailored to their needs close to home.

This project was bittersweet. While we wish there wasn’t a need for a new cancer center, we were honored to help share the story of one opening its doors to offer healing and hope. This cancer center commercial reminds viewers of the power of support, love, and proximity during one of life’s most difficult journeys.

A behind-the-scenes shot of our talent who depicted our theme of ‘closeness’.

Highlighting the Theme of “Closer”

With the theme of closer, we aimed to show what truly matters—being close to the people and places you love. Whether it’s a comforting touch, a shared glance, or simply a presence in the car ride to treatment, those moments matter deeply.

The cancer center’s mission goes beyond medical care. It also provides emotional and spiritual support, helping patients remain connected to their communities and families throughout treatment.

Capturing Honest, Human Moments

To reflect this, we chose imagery that showed closeness among people from all walks of life. Cancer does not discriminate, and the center is prepared to help everyone—no matter their story.

The final scene of the commercial was crafted with care. A woman arrives for treatment, supported by her partner beside her. Though the moment is brief, it reflects a deep well of love and reassurance.

Behind the Scenes with the Team

Filming required a car-mounted rig attached to the front of our client’s own vehicle. Thankfully, he was a great sport, and it gave us plenty of flexibility during the edit.

After hair, makeup, and wardrobe, we filmed the couple’s intimate car ride—a quiet, powerful reflection of care during uncertainty.

Though it’s a short commercial, we hope it informs the public about this new center and helps patients feel seen and supported.

Want to tell a story that connects on a deeper level? Let’s make it happen.

After wardrobe checks, our talent sits to have their makeup done to fit the lighting and layout of the scene.
