Jump In

Visit Raleigh
Following their Jump Back In campaign, some original cast members meet new friends, exploring Raleigh’s esports scene and enjoying some wintery adventures around the holidays.

With their previous campaign encouraging people to ‘Jump Back In’ as the pandemic restrictions lifted, our client and our marketing partners at Avenir Bold wanted to drop the word ‘back’ finally shedding the last weight of the pandemic and inviting people in full swing to enjoy all that Raleigh has to offer.

This footage needed to show that Raleigh has something to offer no matter your interests. We captured everything from the local coffee to the esports and gaming scene.

With the need to capture so many different locations and interests, our production schedule was quite full. That being said, there was a bit of a logistical lift with such a large cast and so many stops within the Raleigh area. To simplify production, we rented a van to transport our cast and crew around the city. This reduced the number of cars traveling simultaneously to the same locations and allowed us to move in and out of settings more quickly.

By collaborating with Visit Raleigh and Avenir Bold, we coordinated with Red Hat Amphitheater to use their ice rink for some of the winter scenes. Our team gathered several extras to be a part of the shoot who came out for the ice skating scenes.

Let’s just say there’s nothing like wrangling twenty-plus extras on an ice rink while your DP and director are toting a camera around…also on ice skates.

We also connected with some popular gamers in the area and attended and captured them attending an esports tournament at PNC arena.

We didn’t stop there though! We tapped into what was happening in real time around the city, especially for some of the holiday content.

The best way to avoid wrangling 100 extras is to go somewhere where there are already 100 extras.

We put this to the test at the annual Christmas Tree lighting in downtown Raleigh and the Chinese Lantern Festival in Cary. Capturing the crowds and energy at both made for some of the best heartwarming point-of-view content.

With some of the edits focusing on esports and gaming, we created graphics and added sound design to reflect those sectors specifically. This made for a fun, unique edit that still fit within the overall creative direction, but gave a unique touch to those particular deliverables.
