This stop-motion animation, voiced by NC Governor Roy Cooper creatively communicates the importance of work-based learning to ensure that North Carolina has the workforce needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow.

A Workforce Readiness Video That Connects Students to Careers

We partnered with the North Carolina Business Committee for Education (NCBCE) to create a workforce readiness video that helps students see how classroom learning connects to real-world careers. This vibrant animation, voiced by Governor Roy Cooper, brings clarity and excitement to the journey from education to employment.

Based in the Office of the Governor, NCBCE has spent decades building bridges between educators and industry leaders. Their goal? To equip students across North Carolina with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in today’s workforce. Through this project, we helped them share that vision with audiences across the state.

Crafting a Workforce Readiness Video That Educates and Inspires

From the beginning, we knew the animation had to be both engaging and accessible. We chose a visual style inspired by school-day memories—think construction paper textures, bold colors, and creative cutouts. These playful visuals keep viewers engaged while walking them through career environments like classrooms, offices, labs, and trades.

The video opens with a familiar setting: students in school, discovering new subjects. As they explore future career options, the visuals transition into vibrant scenes representing various industries across North Carolina. This narrative mirrors the real path many students take—from uncertainty to career confidence.

Why Governor Cooper’s Voice Matters

Governor Roy Cooper lends his voice to the project, offering support for work-based learning and workforce development. His narration adds authority and authenticity, reinforcing the importance of education in shaping tomorrow’s workforce. It also underscores how committed North Carolina’s leadership is to student success.

A Tool for Students, Educators, and Employers

This workforce readiness video isn’t just for students. It’s a conversation starter for teachers and a reminder for employers about the value of early career exploration. By showing how students can turn curiosity into careers, the video encourages investment in work-based learning.

Final Thoughts

Through this collaboration with NCBCE, we created a meaningful, multi-use video that supports statewide workforce development. We’re proud to help shine a light on programs that give students purpose, direction, and the confidence to chase opportunity.
